Anne of Green Gables

Anne of Green Gables is a comfort series for me, I love that it’s just about ordinary people living quiet lives.

Cornelia Bryant - Why do man-haters always end up getting married? I love Cornelia in her stubborn singleness, always saying what she thinks and taking care of other women. I’d love something about her early life, who her friends are, how she feels about living in such an isolated spot when she seems a fairly social woman. If you want to stick to canon, I don’t mind her ending up married to Marshall, but I don’t want that to change her at all.

Dora Keith - I always feel so sorry for Dora because she tries so hard but is basically ignored, while Davy is the favourite even though he’s often quite mean to her. She’s not got much of a character in the books, so I’d like to get to her know her better during her life at Green Gables or after. I’d love to see Dora get a bit of independence without being married off, so maybe she moves to Charlotte Town (or further away) and gets a job. I personally see her as a journalist because she’s so detail-oriented, but something else works too. While some women were journalists at that time, it was unusual so it might make more sense for her to work in a shop or as a teacher. I’m also interested in her relationship with Marilla, who she shares a room with for much of the series. 

Marilla and Rachel - These two have such a great relationship, I’ll love anything you want to do with them. Schoolgirls, young women whose lives are going in different directions, after they’ve moved into together, a canon-divergence AU where they move in together earlier or Rachel helps patch things up between Marilla and John Blythe - all great.
 

Diana Barry/Anne Shirley - In canon Diana can sometimes come across as Anne’s Very Ordinary best friend, so I’d like to see something that gives her a bit more depth. She seems to have a difficult relationship with her mother, does that continue into adulthood? Is that why she didn’t go to Queen’s? Similarly, Anne's childhood is often glossed over in canon, so something about how it affects her as an adult would be interesting, talking it over with Diana, or maybe thinking about adopting a child herself brings up memories.

Something just romantic or funny would also be great! Setting up house together, finding jobs (I’ll always love writer!Anne, encouraged by Diana to pursue her dream even after her first failures), getting into scrapes as always. 

Philippa Gordon/Anne Shirley - I love how playful and sweet these two are together, and all sorts of things could go on in Patty’s Place... I really love how their relationship progresses in the books, with Anne not really taking Phil seriously at first and only with time coming to see another side of her. I think Phil being around for one of Anne’s ‘scrapes’ would be hilarious. Does she make it better or worse? Is she the cause of the scrape this time and Anne experiences the novelty of being the one to fix it? Or does Phil rise to the occasion?

They could go a little angsty as well given the time period and I’m fine with that, I’d rather it was realistic, but I’d like a mostly happy ending.

Evermore & Folklore

These albums have such beautiful imagery and atmosphere, and I love the themes of reminiscence, growth and nature running through them both. I know all of Taylor Swift’s music, so feel free to use other songs as inspiration too if you want.

Dorothea/Narrator of ‘dorothea’ - I really like the relationship we see between them in ‘dorothea’ and ‘’tis the damn season’ so anything that further explores that. Their school days, talking about getting out of the small town, why the narrator didn’t in the end and whether they regret that. Or Dorothea coming back home for the holidays and whether their relationship lasts beyond that visit. Some of the optional mediums could be really great here as well. Maybe the narrator reading an article about Dorothea and finding themselves mentioned there, or following Dorothea’s life through social media. Or even Dorothea following the narrator’s life and wondering if it’s happier than her own even though the narrator never left their town. It’d be interesting to see the difference between how people see Dorothea and what she’s really like, like an article written about her compared to her private diary. I don’t mind a sad ending for this one if they don’t end up together or an open ending, but I’d rather not a totally sad ‘I’ll never love again’ ending.

Narrator of ‘cowboy like me’/Female Lover - One con woman falling for another despite her better judgment is just up my street. The cat-and-mouse beginning, can-I-trust-her?, realising how far she’s fallen. Why didn’t she expect to meet them there? What are the “skeletons in both [their] closets”? How do they get to that beautiful ending “With your boots beneath my bed / Forever is the sweetest con”

Narrator of ‘seven’/Childhood Friend - Child abuse or at least an unhappy childhood is implied here, but please don’t make that graphic. ‘seven’ is just begging for a childhood sweetheart/friends-to-lovers fic. Maybe the narrator really does think the house is haunted, or maybe it actually is haunted. Or maybe the narrator is back in town as an adult and runs into their childhood friend, and they rekindle their old relationship. The “hiding in the closet” line really makes me want f/f for this song (or m/m if you prefer that), maybe the relationship didn’t work out when they were young because one or both weren’t ready to deal with their sexuality, but now they’re older they can work it out. The narrator seems to have issues too “I hit my peak at seven” and “I used to scream ferociously”, are they going back home to find closure? 

Rebekah/Narrator of TLGAD - This has so much potential! Is Rebekah a ghost? Is she alive and comes back to Holiday House to meet the new woman who’s getting a reputation? Who are they both behind their public personas? I’d love to see the vulnerable sides of them, shown only to each other.

Gilmore Girls

I only watched GG recently and I fell in love with the characters and their complicated, messy relationships. I haven’t watched A Year in the Life yet, so please nothing from there, but all the original seasons are fine.

Emily Gilmore - We get all these hints throughout GG that Emily has lived a way more exciting life than Lorelai is aware of, and I’d love to see something about that. What her childhood was like, her university days, maybe regrets she has. Something showing her softer side would be interesting too, exploring and maybe repairing her relationship with Lorelai. 

Emily Gilmore/Sookie St. James - I know this is a bit of a crack ship, but it’s my crack ship! They have great chemistry! Sookie doesn’t seem to mind Emily’s harsher qualities and she’s one of the few people Emily genuinely respects. I’d like to see how their feelings develop, how they’d tell Lorelai, how it would affect their lives. Possibly people in Stars Hollow would be accepting, but I can’t imagine there wouldn’t be scandal among Emily’s friends.

Lane Kim/Dave Rygalski - Lane deserved so much better than marriage to a man like Zack and an accidental pregnancy. I’d love to see her continue to gain independence, get out of Stars Hollow, whether Hep Alien would be successful or if she’d join another band. Dave was so sweet to her and I’d like to see how their relationship progresses as well and get to know him more.

Lorelai Gilmore/Jason Stiles - There two were just so much fun together. I don’t really have any specific prompts, except I’d like to see how it would be if they didn’t break up. Anything you want to do is great!

Luke Danes/Lorelai Gilmore - I love that these two are able to call each other out on their bullshit, argue and makeup, and above all are always, always there when the other needs. I’d love a canon-divergent AU where they get together sooner, maybe pre-show, and Luke has a hand in raising Rory. Or a fix-it fic where they make it work with April and do get married. Post-show is good too, rebuilding their relationship and making it work. I’d also love if they had kids, because they both seemed to want them, and I’d be interested in how Lorelai’s parenting has changed now that she’s an adult. 

Paris Geller/Rory Gilmore - I’ve been rewatching the early seasons at Chilton recently and the amount of times Paris smiles softly as Rory walks away! I fully believe that if Rory had reached out the tiniest amount, Paris would have run to meet her. I love the respect they have for each other and the way they push each other to be better. I’ll take anything from canon-divergent childhood friends AU, getting together at Chilton, at Yale, or afterwards.

His Dark Materials

WB:Any - What is says on the tin. I’m interested in all aspects of HDM, including beyond Lyra’s world. Dæmons are my favourite part of the series, so more information of how/why/when they settle would be amazing. What does their final form say about the character? Does that affect things like what jobs the character can get? Would you, for example, want someone with a wolf daemon as a nurse? Or anything else that grabs your fancy from the book, from witch magic to the history of armoured bears to human politics to the Gallivespians, anything at all. While I love character studies and character driven fics, I would happily read a 10,000 word essay on that toad that lives in the world of the dead.

Lord Asriel - He really interests me as a character because he's so complicated. He's saving the world but is happy to murder Rodger, he's in love with Marisa even though she's a cruel sadist with a completely different world view to him, he loves Lyra but is so cold towards her. I'd love something that explores his mindset more and how it developed. What was his childhood like? When did Stelmaria settle? Did something specific trigger it? How does he go from obviously loving Lyra, taking great risks to see her in La Belle Sauvage, to their cold, formal relationship in Northern Lights? 

Missing moments during the books with Asriel would also be interesting. We see him walk into a new world, then the next we know of him he's gathered a massive army, how does this happen? How many worlds does he visit? What does he think of them?

Balthamos/Baruch - I just want to know more about these two and their relationship. How did Baruch fall in love with an angel? How did Balthamos fall in love with a human? How did Baruch become an angel? Would also love established relationship, maybe exploring other worlds or just the day-to-day life of angels. Like, what do they do all day?

The Hobbit (Jackson Movies)

I love missing moments and canon-divergent AUs for The Hobbit. No!Dragon, Everyone(or almost everyone)!lives, the rebuilding of Erebor, etc.

Bifur, Bofur and Bombur \\ Thorin and Thorin’s company - I’d love something that explored these relationships and the daily lives of the dwarves before Smaug came or in the Blue Mountains. Growing up in Erebor, Dale, what sort of struggles they had after Smaug, why they came on the quest, the quieter moments during the quest. 

Bilbo Baggins and Balin - The development of their friendship during and after the quest, learning about each other’s lives, the letters they send in between visits. Bilbo doesn’t seem to have any close hobbit friends by the time we meet him in lotr, so it’d be interesting to see how he is with a close friend he can open up to. It could also be fun if Bilbo went on another ‘adventure’ with Balin. What trouble do they get into? 

Bilbo Baggins/Thorin Oakenshield - I really like how Bilbo is so reserved and proper, and Thorin’s there being completely open with how utterly besotted he is. I’d be interested in a Thorin!lives scenario and how their relationship might actually work. Can a Dwarven King marry a hobbit? What sort of politics surround the union and rebuilding of Erebor, and how to do they deal with it? If they can’t, can Thorin be happy in the Shire? Or is there another option, do they travel a lot?

The Hunger Games
Violence, torture, tragic endings and terminal injury DNWs are waived for this fandom, but keep it only as graphic as canon is please.

I haven’t read the prequel yet, so nothing from that please.

WB: Any - Really anything you want. Past HG, life in one of the other districts or the Capitol, anything from mutants to fashion.

Cinna - What is his life like? His childhood? How did he get involved in the revolution? A Cinna!lives AU would be great too, but not necessary. 

Katniss Everdeen - I love Katniss so much, I will be thrilled with whatever you want to write. Her childhood, missing moments from the books, post-canon, a canon-divergent AU, anything. 

Primrose Everdeen - Prim is such an interesting character because we only ever see her from Katniss’ POV. I’d love to know more about her as a person, how much she understands, what her life is like day-to-day. A Prim!lives AU would be great, I’d like to see how she grows up and how her relationship with Katniss develops. 

Katniss Everdeen and Johanna Mason -  The relationship development between these two is so great, so anything that expands on that. Post-canon, maybe Jo comes to live in 12 or Katniss is allowed to go to 7. Or an AU where Katniss is the only victor, or the revolution is begun by someone else and they meet during that. 

Katniss Everdeen/Peeta Mellark - The OTP to end all OTPs. I’ve read countless post-book fics with these two and I would love to read another. Or pre-book, Peeta’s crush on Katniss. That winter between THG and CF. AU where one or both of them aren’t reaped, or Peeta isn’t taken in CF, or anything else you think of.

Original Work
I’ve put a few likes for each pairing, but honestly do whatever you want here! I love high and low fantasy, the Wild West, and fairytales, but if you have another idea go for it! The only thing I really don’t want is a modern setting for anything except the centuries old vampire prompt.

Solo: Centuries old vampire trying to adjust to current life (OW) - You could go funny or serious with this. I imagine the amount of photos - for work, IDs, friends with instagram - that are taken nowadays would be a big problem. I’d be interested in what it’s like psychologically as well as practically. A lot of old people I know really struggle to keep up nowadays with computers and smartphones, and often don’t really want to, so how does this vampire cope? Are they tired of the changing times or do they find it exciting? Feel free to do as much or as little world building as you like. 

Dethroned and Dishonored Queen/Lone Loyal Female Knight: I’m less interested in why the Queen is dethroned and more interested in how the two of them move forward afterwards. Does the Queen feel guilty for taking the knight down with her? Is it hard for them to adjust to being on equal terms? What made the knight so loyal? Just love, or does she honestly think the Queen has been unjustly treated?

General Pulled Out Of Retirement By Chosen One/Long-Suffering Significant Other & Chosen One (OW) - I love themes of duty and conflicting responsibilities, so this jumped out from the tag set immediately. How reluctant is the General? Do they believe in the Chosen One? Does their partner?

Grizzled Resistance Leader/Enemy General’s Desperate & Pregnant Young Wife (OW) -  I would really love f/f for this one, but if you have another idea that’s fine too! Why is the young wife desperate? Does she disagree with her husband’s side?  Is he cruel to her? Is she captured by the resistance or has she voluntarily given herself up? Either way, I imagine she wouldn’t be trusted immediately, so I’d love to see how that trust builds between them.

Knight/Blacksmith Forging Something For Them (OW) - I love the idea of a knight ordering all sorts of things they don’t really need, and the blacksmith putting in extra hours to make it perfect and asking for clarification unnecessarily just to see the knight! How does the blacksmith feel about the knight going off to battle? If you like world building, is the blacksmith highly respected or is the knight poor and going to whoever they can afford? Is the knight secretly a noble or prince/ss, and likes to go and talk to the blacksmith because they don’t recognise them? 

Leader of the Rebellion/His Right Hand Man (M/M) (OW) - This is just a great dynamic - exhausted, determined, at-all-costs leader, and the utterly loyal right hand who implements his plans (and brings him cups of tea). 

Loyal But Disillusioned Knight Who Was Betrayed By Last Liege/His Trustworthy New Liege (M/M) (OW) - I’d particularly love if the betrayal was a sticky, complicated one, where maybe the knight was tricked or almost tricked into doing something dishonourable. Is his new liege related to the last or has there been some kind of revolution? How does the trust build between them? Does the new liege trust the knight immediately or do they have doubts too?

Queen/Male General of Rival Nation She Marries to Prevent War (OW) - I really don’t want this to be an arranged marriage or a dub-con/non-con situation, but two adults who decide together that they want to do this. I’m interested in the development of their relationship, but also the politics surrounding it. Is the Queen’s rule unstable? Does this join the nations in some way? Does the rival nation’s leader resent their General for leaving?

Wandering Lady Knight/Her Pining Female Friend She Writes Letters to - Yearning! Terms of endearment! Finally seeing each other after months or even years apart!  

Woman/Man She Fought Alongside Months Ago Whose Name She Never Got (OW) \\Young Woman of Noble Birth/Masked Lover (OW) - I was intrigued by the openness of these prompts and am happy for you to do whatever you like with them.

Sense and Sensibility 

Colonel Brandon/Elenor Dashwood/Edward Ferrars - I’m really interested in how this would work in canon. They’re all such traditional, reserved people that I wonder how it develops. I don’t mind the configuration, whether Elenor marries Brandon thinking Edward is engaged to Lucy, or it happens when Elenor and Edward are honeymooning at Brandon’s house, but I’d like for there to be love all round, not just one person with two lovers. 

Vampire Academy  
Teacher/student DNW is waived for this fandom. Rose/Dimitri is my exception because their relationship isn’t written as though this is a normal or healthy dynamic, but something that needs to change before they can be together as equals. I will ask, no non-canon teacher/student relationships please, and that it isn’t what makes the relationship appealing for either Rose or Dimitri.

I’m always surprised the VA fandom isn’t bigger because it has so much potential. The characters and relationships are so rich, but often undeveloped, and there are tons of issues raised and then dropped for the sake of more action. 

WB: Any - There are so many questions with this series and I would love for some to be answered. Whatever interests you! Politics, the Court moving to America, the other schools, dhampir towns/communes, anything. I’ve nominated a ton of other mediums that could be fun here as well!

WB: Feeders - So a bunch of vulnerable humans have been taken, locked up in schools, prisons and courts, become addicted to a powerful drug… and everyone’s just ok with that? I’d really like something looking at how these people ended up there and what their day-to-day lives are like. It would also be great it you wanted to write about some of the VA characters realising how messed up this is and Queen Lissa actually doing something about it?  

WB: Guardian Assignments & WB: Guardian Council within Politics - The time spent at Court in Spirit Bound is some of my favourite stuff in the series. I’d love something that explores the guardian profession more deeply. Queen Tatiana mentions that Rose should be assigned to a politician because she’s diplomatic, which suggests guardians’ behaviour reflect on their Moroi, how true is this? Are some guardians basically politicians themselves? How involved are the Moroi in guardian business? How involved/influential are the Guardian Council in politics? More about the inner workings of the guardians please!

WB: Guardian Exams - I’d love to know what is actually asked during the Qualifier interview as well as what other exams the guardians have to take, during and after graduation. You could show a guardian from the series or an OC taking the exams, or there are a few other nominated mediums I thought would be cool for this, like Field Report, In-Universe Textbook, etc.

Belikov Family - I’m really interested in the Belikov family and their relationships. Dimitri clearly loves his family, but they didn’t even know where he was working for two years and nobody informed them of his death, so why doesn’t he confide in them? How do the Belikov sisters feel about it? Does Sonya and Viktoria’s relationship change after the events of Blood Promise? And anything about Yeva, her life, her family, etc.

Natasha Ozera - I was so disappointed with how Tasha’s story ended. She was perfectly nice to Rose throughout the series and I really liked that she wasn’t a Mean Girl trying to steal Dimitri. It felt weird that at the last minute it was revealed she was Evil. I’d really like a further exploration of her motives and why she chose Rose. Or something pre-books, maybe the time between The Turn and the Flame and VA, with her raising Christian. 

Janine Hathaway - Janine’s a really interesting character and the books only scratch the surface. We know she has family in Scotland, so was she raised among them or more like Rose in an Academy? Why did her relationship with them crumble? How she made the decision to give Rose up would be interesting too, and the effect it had on her and her career. I’d like the focus to be on Janine, but it’s fine if you want to write about her relationship with Abe too.

Christian Ozera & Natasha Ozera - They have such a great relationship, and it’d be nice to see how she raised him when she’s not that much older than him, how they bonded, how they struggled after the attack. Did Christian ever blame Tasha for the death of his parents? How did he feel about living largely in human society? Did living with humans change their perspective on feeders? 

Dimitri Belikov & Olena Belikova - I’d love to see something from Dimitri’s childhood or adolescence, looking at his relationship with Olena. Did his father’s abuse affect their relationship? Does he feel protective of her? How does Olena feel about her son living in the US? Does their relationship improve post-Last Sacrifice?

Lissa Dragomir & Rose Hathaway - Even without romance, Lissa and Rose ticks so many boxes for me - reckless loyalty, forgiveness, character growth! I’ll be thrilled with anything about their relationship, pre-book growing up together, realising their respective places in society and saying screw that!, on the run, Lissa’s POV of canon events, post-book looking at how they cope without the bond. Having a situation where Lissa supports Rose would also be sweet, since we get so little of that in the books. 

A canon-divergence AU could be really interesting with these two as well. So much of their canon relationship stems from being childhood friends and being bonded, so them meeting as adults would be a fun scenario.

Christian Ozera/Rose Hathaway - I really like the snarky, reluctant respect these two have for each other. A romantic relationship would be really fun, with them slowly realising they’ve fallen for each other and being really annoyed about it. I can easily see it happening in an AU where they meet through a moroi defence class or something. If you want to make it work in canon, please don’t bash Dimitri or Lissa though.

Dimitri Belikov/Rose Hathaway - I would absolutely love some post-canon Romitri. Their relationship has changed so much since they met and they’re finally getting some time to settle in and spend a lot of time together. How do they deal with the judgement they’re bound to get? Do they find it harder than they expected to make their relationship work? What new things do they learn about each other? Rose has never had a serious or sexual relationship before, how does that affect them. 

I’m interested in them both as individuals as well, so it’d be nice to get more depth to Dimitri’s relationships with his family and/or Rose with her parents. Neither of them are close to their families, so how do they support each other as they try to build/maintain those relationships? Alternatively a canon divergence AU where they meet some other way would be great - What if Ivan hadn’t died, or Rose and Lissa hadn’t been found until after graduation, or they never ran away at all?

Lissa Dragomir/Rose Hathaway (Vampire Academy Series) - Lissa/Rose ticks so many boxes for me - friends-to-lovers, reckless loyalty, forgiveness, character growth! I’ll be thrilled with anything about their relationship, pre-book growing up together, realising their respective places in society and saying screw that!, on the run, post-book canon divergent where Lissa is Queen and Rose is her guardian. Having a situation where Lissa supports Rose would also be sweet, since we get so little of that in the books.

Mia Rinaldi/Rose Hathaway - Enemies-to-lovers! Flirting disguised as arguing! Rose teaching Mia how to fight and realising all at once they’re alone in an empty gym holding each other really close! I love Mia’s redemption arc and Mia/Rose is such a great enemies-to-friends(-to-lovers) ship. They have enough in common to bond, but they still keep each other on their toes. Maybe they stay in contact after Mia moves to Court or while Rose is at university and feelings develop. If you want to skip all that and go straight to established relationship, that’s also great! I’d love to know something about Mia’s daily life at Court and what happens when she graduates. Does she begin leading Moroi self-defence lessons? Does she become something of a semi-guardian herself and go after Strigoi?

Rose Hathaway/Sydney Sage: I adore Sydney, and think she and Rose would be really good for each other. Rose would encourage Sydney to think for herself and pursue her own ambitions, and Sydney would be a calming influence on Rose. Maybe they meet earlier when Rose and Lissa are on the run and Sydney somehow gets pulled into it, or they keep in contact after Russia, or Rose goes with Jill to Palm Springs. If you want to skip all that and go straight to established relationship, that’s also great! I don’t see Rose being happy if she’s not a guardian (though if you want to convince me, go ahead!), but Sydney isn’t a part of her world, so how do they compromise? Do they live at Court?
