Thank you for writing something for me! I’ve put a ton of prompts here, but don’t feel you have to use these if none catch your eye. I’m very easy to please and love surprises! Some fandoms have more/longer prompts than others, but this doesn’t reflect a preference. I don’t mind if the correspondence is sent or unsent, reciprocal or one-sided, a combination of my requested formats or just one, whatever you like.

I’ve done individual prompts for each pairing, but I’m interested in all these characters and their lives, so if you want to combine them that’s great! I’m also not opposed to AU, modern or otherwise, so social media and texts are a go!

Ruby Gillis & Anne Shirley: I’d just really like for Ruby not to die. Maybe she gets better and begins writing to Anne, and they find some common ground they didn’t expect. Ruby was in the story club, so does she still write? Does she encourage Anne not to give up because of Avril’s Atonement? Women supporting women!

Philippa Gordon/Anne Shirley: I know Anne/Diana is the OTP for a lot of people, but Anne/Phil is my favourite. They’re so playful and sweet together, and their pet names for each other! Phil’s almost desperate desire for Anne to like her! The adorable letter she sends in ‘Enter Jonas’! All sorts of things could go on in Patty’s Place... It could go a little angsty as well given the time period and that’s fine as long as it’s a mostly happy ending. I also think Phil being around for one of Anne’s ‘scrapes’ would be hilarious. Does she make it better or worse? Is she the cause of the scrape this time and Anne experiences the novelty of being the one to fix it?

Philippa Gordon & Anne Shirley: All of the above minus the romance.

Diana Barry/Anne Shirley: While Anne/Phil is my OTP, I do still love Anne/Diana. I’d love to see some of the letters they exchange while Anne’s away at Queens or university, or even Windy Poplars. Maybe it’s Diana she writes to instead of Gilbert. And what’s going on with Diana all this time? Is she bored in Avonlea? Does she get into any scrapes of her own?

Diana Barry & Anne Shirley: All of the above minus the romance.

Marilla Cuthbert & Anne Shirley: I love the development of Marilla and her relationship with Anne throughout the first book particularly, so it’d be interesting to see some letters from Anne’s time at Queens. Is Marilla ever able to tell Anne she misses her? Does she get copies of Anne’s essays/articles and find herself unable to stop showing them off to the rest of the village?

Marilla Cuthbert & Dora Keith and Dora Keith & None: I always feel so sorry for Dora because she tries so hard but is basically ignored, while Davy is the favourite even though he’s often quite mean to her. I’d love something where she gets a bit of attention either from Marilla, or something focused entirely on her either about her life at Green Gables or afterwards. I’d love to see Dora get a bit of independence without being married off, so maybe she moves to Charlotte Town (or further away) and gets a job. I personally see her as a journalist because she’s so detail-oriented, but something else works too. While some women were journalists at that time, it was usual so it might make more sense for her to work in a shop or as a teacher.

dorothea - Taylor Swift (Song)

Relationships: Dorothea/Female Narrator, Dorothea & Any, Dorothea & None

Dorothea/Female Narrator: I’d love anything about their relationship. Some ideas are - diary entries from their school days, letters/emails/texts they wrote to each other or to other people about each other after Dorothea left town, Narrator reading an article or even a biography of Dorothea and finding herself there, following Dorothea’s life through social media or Dorothea following the narrator’s life and wondering if it’s happier than her own even though the narrator never left their town.

Dorothea & Any and Dorothea & None: I’d love something exploring Dorothea’s life and feelings further, why she chose to leave town, why she never came back, if she’s happy with her life. It’d be interesting to know the difference between how people see her and what she’s really like, like maybe an article written about her compared to her private diary.

I know all Taylor Swift music, so feel free to use other songs as inspiration too if you want. I think ‘The Lucky One’ and ‘‘tis the damn season’ work well, as do songs like ‘Wildest Dreams’ that are about secret relationships. I don’t mind a bittersweet ending for this one if they don’t end up together or an open ending, but I’d rather not a totally sad ‘I’ll never love again’ ending.

Dracula - Bram Stoker

My no character death DNW doesn’t apply to this one, but please no non-canon character death. If you want to stick with canon I don’t mind Lucy already being dead, but please don’t make it the focus. I also don’t mind if Dracula is killed.

Relationships: Mina Harker/Lucy Westenra, Jonathan Harker/Mina Harker

It’s been a while since I read Dracula so I don’t have many prompts, but I really liked both these relationships. A modern AU could be fun, using social media to somehow track/trick/hunt a vampire sounds hilarious. Or more letters exchanged in canon. Maybe instead of writing about three men proposing and accepting one, Lucy writes that she couldn’t accept any because of Mina.

The Hobbit (Jackson Movies)

Specific DNWs for this fandom: Complete AU, but canon divergence is great (especially of the everyone lives AU variety)

I’d love to see something written on the quest. Maybe various journal entries exploring the relationships between the company or letters home. We know Bilbo wrote a book about it, maybe Ori did too. I don’t have any really specific prompts, I’ll be happy with anything looking at the relationships between whichever members of the company you’d like.

illicit affairs - Taylor Swift (song)

Relationships: Narrator/Lover

I’m really interested in the messy, complicated relationship of illicit affairs. Is it a case of cheating or is there another reason for it to be kept secret? The line “Don’t call me “kid”, don’t call me “baby”” seem to suggest a relationship with someone older, and I really like that angle, but the narrator says they’re the one who will be ruined by it. Is that just emotional? Or is the narrator the one wanting to keep it a secret? Can the relationship survive once it goes public? Does the narrator even want it to or do they just want to move on? I don’t really mind the scenario, I just want conflicted characters making hard decisions!

I know all Taylor Swift music, so feel free to use other songs as inspiration too if you want. I think songs like ‘Wildest Dreams’ and ‘Cruel Summer’ work well. I don’t mind a bittersweet ending for this one if they don’t end up together or an open ending, but I’d rather not a totally sad ‘I’ll never love again’ ending.

King & Lionheart - Of Monsters and Men (Music Video)

I love that this song is about a loving, powerful sibling relationship and music video is so interesting and magical, so I’d love something that expands on the world - the magic, who the kids are and why they’re being held captive, why the world seems to have been destroyed. Do they write diaries or letters in captivity that they’re never able to send? Does the sister find her brother’s after he leaves? Is she recaptured, or do they eventually meet again? Something in the style of a history book after the world has recovered would be really cool. Researchers trying to figure out what happened, what the siblings’ story was.

Wandering Lady Knight/Her Pining Female Friend She Writes Letters to: All the thinly disguised yearning! Terms of endearment, almost-confessions, finally seeing each other after months or even years apart! Why doesn’t the friend go with the knight? Does she worry? Does she wait, or does the knight get home to find her moving on (or almost moving on) with someone else?

Vampire Academy

Teacher/student is on my DNW list, but does not apply to this fandom. Rose/Dimitri is my exception because their relationship isn’t written as though this is a normal or healthy dynamic, but something that needs to change before they can be together as equals. I will ask no non-canon teacher/student, and that it’s not what makes the relationship appealing for either Rose or Dimitri.

I’m always surprised there isn’t a larger Vampire Academy fandom because it has so much potential. I’d love some worldbuilding, looking at feeders’ lives, the inner workings of guardian work (like how they’re assigned, how much they train after graduation, what their job is like day-to-day, etc.). I really love the characters too though, so feel free to just focus on them and their relationship.

Lissa Dragomir/Rose Hathaway: Lissa/Rose ticks so many boxes for me - friends-to-lovers, reckless loyalty, forgiveness, character growth! I’ll be thrilled with anything about their relationship, pre-book growing up together, realising their respective places in society and saying screw that!, on the run, post-book canon divergent, Lissa’s perspective on things. If they still have the bond, how do they cope with that? Alternatively, how does Lissa cope without the bond and how does Rose learn to support her without it? Lissa supporting Rose would also be sweet, since we get so little of that in the books. We know Lissa keeps a diary from the short story in the 10th anniversary editions, so an expansion of the From the Journal of Vasilisa Dragomir is an option too. Or a history book/article about Queen Vasilisa and her shadow kissed guardian. Or about famous Guardian Hathaway and her unusually intense bond with her charge. Were Lissa and Rose open about their relationship, or is it something the history books have to infer?

Dimitri Belikov & Belikov Family: I’m really interested in Dimitri’s relationships with his family. He clearly loves them, but they didn’t even know where he was working for three years and nobody informed them of his death, so why doesn’t he confide in them? Or is this information forbidden for Guardians to share? Did his father’s abuse affect his relationship with his mother? Does he feel protective of them? Which sister is he closest to? I’d love some mutual correspondence here, emails/letters/texts/etc. but I don’t mind which family member he’s talking to or if you want to do all of them as a group chat thing, or some combination.

Christian Ozera & Tasha Ozera: I was so disappointed with how Tasha’s story ended. She was perfectly nice to Rose throughout the series and I really liked that she wasn’t a Mean Girl trying to steal Dimitri, and it felt weird that at the last minute it was revealed she was Evil. I’d really like something exploring her relationship with Christian, how it felt to raise him when she’s not that much older than him, how they bonded, how they struggled after the attack. Did Christian ever blame Tasha for the death of his parents? Does he confide in Tasha about his treatment at school and how does she advise him?

Dimitri Belikov/Rose Hathaway: I’d love some post-canon Romitri settling into their relationship. Do they find it harder than they expected to make their relationship work? Rose at university and Dimitri at Court gives lots of options for correspondence. I’m interested in them both as individuals as well, so it’d be nice to get more depth to Dimitri’s relationships with his family and/or Rose with her parents. Neither of them are close to their families, so how do they support each other as they try to build/maintain those relationships?

Alternatively a canon divergence AU where they meet some other way would be fun, if Ivan hadn’t died, or Rose and Lissa hadn’t been found until after graduation, etc.

Rose Hathaway/Mia Rinaldi: I love Mia’s redemption arc and Mia/Rose is such a great enemies-to-friends(-to-lovers) ship. They have enough in common to bond, but they still keep each other on their toes. Maybe they stay in contact after Mia moves to Court or while Rose is at university and feelings develop. If you want to skip all that and go straight to established relationship, that’s also great! I’d love to know something about Mia’s daily life at Court and what happens when she graduates. Does she begin leading Moroi self-defence lessons? Does she become something of a semi-guardian herself and go after Strigoi?
